On Public Speaking:
As a high school teacher, you get really used to standing in front of people and talking. As head of sales, you get really used to standing in front of people and talking. In the Dale Carnegie Effective Communications class, you get really used to….you get the point.
Public speaking is a developed skill and I have it in folds. It’s where I shine!
On Pitch Development:
Pitching is an art and science. There is a formula to selling that most people know, the art comes in condensing hours of information into 5 minutes. This takes time and practice. Working at Princeton CryoTech I had hundreds of hours of practice with hundreds of pitches to clients.
Investors are even tougher. Working in the start-up world you need to communicate how awesome your product is in less than 5 minutes and within 5 minutes, investors have decided if they are going to give you millions or not. This…is…not…easy! And I’ve learned how to do it. Because I now know how, I can teach it to others and guide teams to do the same.
